About LSUA's Department of AEH

The Department of Arts, English, and Humanities (AEH) offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Communication Studies, as well as Associate of Arts and Bachelor of General Studies and Liberal Studies degrees. We also offer electives in music, philosophy, religion, French, Spanish and courses for the minors in Women’s and African-American Studies. Our undergraduate alumni have gone on to graduate study in English and law as well as to careers in the arts, business, and education. The interests of our teaching faculty range from Medieval and Renaissance Studies to Studies in Cinema and Media, Postcolonial Theory, Asian Literature, and Contemporary Poetics. AEH is home to two honor societies, Sigma Tau Delta for English courses and Lambda Pi Eta for Communication Studies students. Our theater troupe, The Empty Space Players, performs annually and our creative writing journal, The Jongleur, publishes essays and creative work by student writers.
